How to Use Essential Oils

Thursday

Essential oils are nature’s answer for treating many health problems and for helping you to stay well.  There are many different ways that you can use them. Read on to learn some of the most common and effective ways.

For Massage. When you massage the skin you boost circulation and you can relax sore muscles. Adding essential oils to your massage oil can help you to add more relaxation and health benefits. The oils will be absorbed by your skin and be made even more effective because of the circulation boost of massage.

In the Tub. When you’re taking a hot bath, adding a few drops of essential oils can help provide an aromatherapy effect. If you add some bath salts you can break up the essential oils and help them to be absorbed by the skin. This can help with muscle aches, stress, menstrual pain, and improve your skin.

Lotions. To add essential oils to your body with very little effort you can add them to your favorite lotion. You can make your own lotion or just mix some oils with whipped coconut oil to make a quick, natural lotion.

Compress. When you have sore muscles, a bruise, or a wound you can use a compress to deliver essential oils. Just soak a cloth in warm water with a few drops of essential oils added to it. Then wrap the cloth around the affected area.

Diffuse. You can diffuse oils in a variety of ways. Adding a few drops of essential oils to a pot of warm water on the stove will help to release the aroma. You can also purchase diffusers for rooms and even personal diffusers for the car or to wear around your neck.

Keep a small bottle of your favorite stress busting essential oil in your purse or briefcase and inhale it when you’re in need of a little relaxation throughout a busy work day.

Cleaning. Essential oils can be added to natural cleansers such as vinegar and baking soda to boost cleaning power and to provide your home with a fresh, clean smell. They can help you to have a clean home without adding toxic chemicals to your home.

You can clean everything from your laundry to the toilet using essential oils. You’ll also find that this is a great way to save money.

Essential oils can be used for many purposes. Once you begin using them you’ll find that you never want to be without them.
